FAQ

Booking

How do I book a tattoo?
Fill out the booking form on this website with your tattoo idea, preferred placement, availability and contact details. I’ll then get back to you via email with a quote, an available booking slot and the deposit info to confirm your booking.

Do you offer consultations?
If you’d like us to arrange a free in-person consultation to discuss your idea before confirming a booking, I’m always happy to do so. I’ll also suggest one if I think it will help me better understand your tattoo vision.

I’m under 18, can you tattoo me?
No sorry, I only tattoo clients aged 18 and over. Please bring valid photo ID with you on the day.

Are your flash designs repeatable?
All my flash designs are repeatable, but I often retire them after they’ve been tattooed a few times. You can see which designs are available on the flash page of my website or in my Instagram story highlight. A dot next to a design means it is no longer available, but I’m happy to modify a retired design to create something new if you’d like.

What size are your flash designs?
Pretty much all of my flash designs can be done in a wide range of sizes, so we can size to suit you.

What kind of customs do you do?
I enjoy custom work, but only accept requests that are within my general style and suited to my skillset. I don’t copy other artists’ work or tattoo AI-generated designs.

When can I see the design?
For customs, I’ll show you the design I have prepared at the beginning of your appointment and give you plenty of time and space to look over it. I’m more than happy to make changes if needed before we begin tattooing.

What if I change my mind on what I want?
If you change your mind about the overall concept, subject matter, or style of your tattoo after booking, please let me know at least 72 hours before your appointment. This gives me enough time to prepare a new design. If you request a different tattoo idea with less than 72 hours' notice or at the appointment, I'm happy to redraw the design, but may require a new $100 deposit to cover the additional drawing time, and may need to reschedule your booking. Small changes and adjustments are always welcome when I show you the design on the day, this just refers to when the brief changes significantly so a completely new design needs to be created from scratch.

Do you require a deposit?
I require a $60 deposit on flash bookings and a $100 deposit for customs. The deposit comes off your final payment on the day and is non-refundable.

What’s your reschedule policy?
If you reschedule with at least 48 hours notice, your deposit can transfer to the new booking. If you give less than 48 hours’ notice, or need to reschedule more than once, a new deposit will be required to secure another booking.

How much will the tattoo cost?
Tattoo pricing varies depending on the size, placement, complexity and time required. I charge by the piece rather than hourly, and I’ll provide a quote when responding to your booking request. Customs cost more to account for research and drawing time. My minimum price for a flash booking is $150, and my minimum price for a custom booking is typically $200.

How do I pay?
Deposits are paid via bank transfer, and the remaining payment is made on the day with bank transfer or cash (I don’t have EFTPOS). If needed, we can arrange a PayPal transfer for the deposit.

Where’s the studio?
I’m based at Orange Street Collective, 694 Ferry Road, inside Creative Images Photography. I’ll give you detailed instructions on how to find the studio when we confirm your booking.

What should I do to prepare?

Please don’t drink alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment
Make sure you’ve had something to eat and drink beforehand
Bring a drink and a snack with you if you’d like
Avoid consuming a large amount of caffeine before or during the appointment
Wear something comfy that can easily expose the area you want to be tattooed
Please don’t wear fake tan on the area you’d like to get tattooed
You can ask for breaks whenever needed
If you’re sick, please don’t come to the studio and let me know as soon as you can so we can reschedule your booking

Can I bring someone with me?
Feel free to bring a support person with you! As our studio is often busy I kindly ask you just bring one person so we can all fit comfortably.

How do I look after my new tattoo?

Leave your tattoo wrapped for 2–3 hours, then gently wash with lukewarm water and carefully pat dry with a clean paper towel
Don’t pick, scratch or scrub your tattoo at all during healing
Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight for three weeks
Don’t go swimming, have a bath/spa, or sauna for three weeks (showering is fine but avoid soaking the tattoo)
Wash your tattoo gently with warm water once or twice a day, you can use a small amount of unscented soap if you like, but avoid scrubbing or fragranced bodywash/soap
Apply a very thin layer of tattoo aftercare lotion (or unscented, unmedicated lotion) twice a day during healing (I recommend AfterArt)
Some itching, dryness and flaking are normal parts of the healing process
Your tattoo will take around a month to heal

Do you offer touch-ups?
I’m more than happy to do a free touch-up if needed.
